For years this was the busy little trat that everyone who was anyone in West Van snuck out to for casual lunches and dinners.
Now, thanks to a recent expansion, it's the busy big trat that everyone in West Van sneaks out to. And well they should: chef Andrew Pavle's menu is straightforward, but you won't find northern Italian standards such as penne salsiccia, veal scaloppini or breast of pheasant with porcini, rosemary and grappa done better anywhere in town, let alone on the North Shore.

Carmelo's is the real thing. Fine Italian cooking delivered in a traditional manner.

offers an intimate setting for the appreciation of great cuisine.
This is Italian with no "fusion" in sight anywhere.
The pastas are homemade and deliver the tastes of specialties simply and wonderfully. Thin crust pizzas baked
in an wood burning oven have traditional topping rather
than "gourmet" options. Need we say more.
